Valinor is a new type of defense and government tech company focused on solving the problems others don't. Our unique model of centralized go-to-market and decentralized engineering allows us to move with unparalleled efficiency to identify unmet needs, build right-sized solutions, and get products where they matter most - in the hands of users. Unlike others in the space, who focus on the flashy problems, Valinor exists to solve the quiet, unaddressed problems-the small but significant ones that lead to cracks in the country's strength, stability, and security.
Backed by General Catalyst, Founders Fund, and Friends & Family Capital, Valinor was founded in 2024 and has established strategic partnerships with Palantir, Anduril, and Helsing. We are building the dream team, and we want you on it.
About The Role
Valinor Terra is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to take ownership of Terra’s software offering, the platform that connects environmental sensors in military barracks to the facilities teams responsible for keeping them safe and livable. Terra aims to turn sensor readings into alerts and work orders so problems get fixed before they become emergencies. This role is onsite in Austin.
We’re looking for someone who has taken a product from zero to one on a small team, enjoys working across software and hardware, and can explain technical tradeoffs as clearly to a government customer as to an engineer. This role is ideal for a full-stack engineer who wants real ownership, cares about the people using the product, and is excited to build the bridge between physical devices and the cloud.
What You’ll Do
Own Terra’s software product technically, writing production code across our TypeScript stack and making the architecture decisions that shape the platform at scale.
Work closely with our hardware and firmware engineers to define how sensors connect, register, and get installed, so an install technician can set up hundreds of devices in a day without having to involve our engineering teams.
Carry the roadmap from idea to shipped, including support for industry standard building-system protocols, new alerting channels (email, sms, etc.), reporting, and eventually the ability to not only monitor but actuate building systems.
Keep Terra’s software production-ready for the DoD and other government agents, owning reliability, monitoring, security, and the technical work behind our government authorization on AWS GovCloud.
Set engineering practices for testing, code review, releases, and effective use of AI tools, then help shape the hiring plan and lead the engineers who join after you.
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of software engineering experience, including time on a small team that took a product from zero to one and an architecture you designed from the ground up.
Experience designing multi-tenant systems, including the tradeoffs involved and which decisions you’d make again. This shouldn’t be the first multi-tenant architecture you’ve built.
Full-stack range with real depth on the backend: comfortable on the frontend, with stronger opinions about services, data, and architecture. TypeScript and Postgres experience is ideal, but strong fundamentals matter more than a matching résumé.
Comfort owning deployment without a dedicated DevOps team, including containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and Terraform. You don’t need to be a Kubernetes expert, but you can step in when it matters.
The ability to explain technical tradeoffs in plain language to non-technical leaders, government customers, and hardware engineers.
A track record of building for real users, including making engineering tradeoffs in favor of the person using the product.
Fluency with AI-assisted development, using it to move faster, not as a substitute for understanding the code you ship.
A builder’s mentality and comfort with ownership in an early-stage environment. Experience building software for connected hardware (consumer devices, smart home, IoT) as well as working with telemetry or event-driven systems like MQTT or Kafka is a plus.
What Valinor Offers
Competitive salary, equity packages, and benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance - fully covered for employees, 401(k), among others.
Unlimited PTO and two-week company holiday at the end of every calendar year.
We are a pro-mental health and pro-family company - we actually encourage employees to spend time with themselves and their families. Valinor also provides fertility benefits to those just beginning that journey.
Fun work environment - we like to laugh and take care of each other, but we also deeply respect the mission in front of us.
This role requires the candidate be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance. Active clearance preferred, but not required.
Valinor is an equal-opportunity employer committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace. The Valinor team is made up of incredibly talented and unique individuals, who together are disrupting industry norms by creating new paths towards the future of defense and government technology. All qualified applicants will be treated with respect and receive equal consideration for employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, uniform service, Veteran status, age, or any other protected characteristic per federal, state, or local law, including those with a criminal history, in a manner consistent with the requirements of applicable state and local laws, including the CA Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance. We actively encourage members of recognized minorities, women, Veterans, and those with disabilities to apply, and we work to create a welcoming and supportive environment for all applicants throughout the interview process. If you are someone passionate about working on problems that have a real-world impact, we'd love to hear from you!

Every breach, every failed audit, every new hire stuck in onboarding purgatory traces back to the same question: who has access to what — and should they?
Identity is where modern companies break. Too much access leaks data. Too little grinds the business to a halt. Lumos is the industry's first Autonomous Identity Platform — software that doesn't just surface access risk, but acts on it. We started with a self-service AppStore and grew into the critical infrastructure connecting apps, identities, and data for GitHub, MongoDB, Mars, Pinterest, Anduril, Intercom, Roku, and Netskope. At the center is Albus, our AI agent for identity — mining roles, approving access, and catching the drift humans miss.
You'll ship work that thousands of IT and security teams touch every day. You'll own problems without playbooks, because the category is being redefined in real time — by us.
Why Lumos?
🚀 Jump on a rocketship. Since launching out of stealth in April 2022, we've grown from 20 to ~130 Alchemists and raised over $65M from a16z, Scale, Neo, Greg Brockman (President at OpenAI), and Phil Venables (CISO at Google).
⭐ Customers love us — and so does the industry. Named a Strong Performer in the 2026 Gartner Voice of the Customer for IGA — 4.7/5, with 96% of reviewers saying they'd recommend us. Our customers cut time-to-access by 98%, slash IT tickets by 72%, and eliminate excess privilege at scale.
🏆 A culture worth joining. Three years running on Forbes' Top 100 Best Startup Employers in America (2024, 2025, 2026) — measured on culture, retention, growth, and job creation. That's our Alchemists, not our marketing. See what we live by here.
AI agents are on every company laptop. They are on more cloud workloads each week. The numbers are going up and to the right, fast. These agents act with whatever access the person running them has. Security teams can't see which tools their agents call, let alone approve or block them. Lumos is building the governance layer for these agents, and we're rolling it out to customers right now.
As a Software Engineer on AI Agent Governance at Lumos, you have massive opportunity to help build a brand new product from the ground up in one of the fastest moving markets in software. You'll join a small team who ships fast.
✨ Your Responsibilities
Ship backend features end to end, from a rough customer ask to running in production, often in days rather than weeks.
You don’t just ship to a spec, rather you ensure value is delivered to customers. You are a valued member of the oncall rotation.
Build the testing systems and harnesses that let agents ship changes safely.
Work directly with customers when issues arise.
You utilize agents heavily in your day to day work, but you have a deep understanding of the system architecture and can whiteboard it for a coworker at a moment’s notice.
🙌 What We’re Looking For
1+ years of professional software engineering experience, or an equivalent track record of shipping real products
Strong backend fundamentals. You've built APIs, databases and services that run in production. Our stack is Python, Postgres, OpenSearch and gRPC on AWS.
You're AI native. You understand how agents work under the hood: tool calls, MCP servers, hooks and context.
You're comfortable with ambiguity. You've worked somewhere small and fast, you start before the spec is finished, and you change direction when customers tell you something new.
You take ownership. This is a high-intensity role on a product that's still finding product market fit. We work hard and move fast, and we want people who are excited by that.
Nice to have: experience with endpoint or client software (MDM, software that runs on laptops), a security or identity background.
⭐️ What We Value
We also care about whether you would be a good fit for Lumos based on the values and characteristics that define how we achieve outcomes, not just your resume.
Lumos is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, protected veteran status, disability, age, or other legally protected status. If you require any reasonable accommodations, please let us know at any time.
Thank you for considering Lumos, we hope to hear from you! 🎉
💰 Pay Range
$133,500 - $150,000 plus equity + benefits (Note that this range is a good faith estimate of likely pay for this role; upon hire, the pay may differ due to skill and/or level of experience.)

Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.
About The Team
Radar helps businesses prevent payments fraud and abuse while enabling legitimate customers to transact with confidence. We combine machine learning and AI with the intelligence of Stripe’s global network to make sophisticated fraud prevention accessible to businesses of all sizes.
Our work spans payments fraud detection, protection against abuse beyond the payment, enterprise APIs that bring Radar’s capabilities into businesses’ own systems and payment flows, and the platform that powers it all. We build everything from reliable, low-latency infrastructure to intuitive tools that help users understand threats and control how they respond.
Fraud evolves constantly, and so do we. We work directly with users to understand emerging attacks, turn advances in ML and AI into effective defenses, and build products that protect and grow their revenue.
What you’ll do
As a software engineer on Radar, you’ll build products and infrastructure that help businesses understand and stop fraud and abuse. Your work will span backend services, enterprise APIs, and user experiences that put sophisticated prevention capabilities into our customers’ hands.
You’ll own problems from investigation through launch, partnering with product managers, designers, and data scientists. You’ll have opportunities to scale systems that make real-time decisions across Stripe’s global payments network, bring advances in ML and AI into production, and build new products from scratch. Every improvement can have a direct impact on the revenue our users retain and the legitimate customers they serve.
Responsibilities
Build and operate reliable, low-latency services that detect and prevent fraud and abuse at scale
Design APIs and dashboard experiences that help businesses investigate threats, configure defenses, and understand how Radar protects them
Develop the shared platform and infrastructure that enable teams to build and launch new Radar capabilities
Work directly with users to understand emerging threats and turn those insights into broadly useful products
Partner with ML engineers and data scientists to bring new signals, models, and AI capabilities into production
Own projects end to end, from technical design and implementation through rollout, measurement, and iteration
Uphold a high bar for engineering quality, reliability, and product craft while moving quickly as threats evolve
Who you are
We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.
Minimum Requirements
10+ years of backend and/or full-stack software development experience, with a track record of owning large, ambiguous systems end-to-end.

Hybrid work at Stripe
This role is available either in an office or a remote location (35+ miles or 56+ km from a Stripe office).
In-office expectations
Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.
Working remotely at Stripe
A remote location is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from one of our offices. While you would be welcome to come into the office for team/business meetings, on-sites, meet-ups, and events, our expectation is you would regularly work from home rather than a Stripe office. Stripe does not cover the cost of relocating to a remote location. We encourage you to apply for roles that match the location where you currently live or plan to live.
Pay and benefits
The annual US base salary range for this role is $224,000 - $336,000. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.
Additional benefits for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; 401(k) plan; medical, dental, and vision benefits; and wellness stipends.
We look forward to hearing from you.
