What We Are Looking For
We're searching for Summer 2027 Core Autonomy Software Interns. You'll work on the low-level software that runs the Aurora Driver reliably in real time, onboard compute and robotics middleware, system software architecture, autonomy integration, and real-time routing/graph systems.
In this role you will
Write and integrate C++ software that runs onboard the Aurora Driver under real-time constraints
Work on system software architecture, middleware, or autonomy integration depending on team placement
Reason about latency, memory, and reliability tradeoffs rather than just passing unit tests
Use performance analysis and instrumentation tools to diagnose real system behavior
Partner with full-time engineers on production-quality code, not prototype-only work
Required Qualifications
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related field
Strong C++ and general systems-programming skills
Some real-time and/or embedded systems exposure
Working knowledge of graph algorithms and core data structures
Ability to reason about latency, memory, and reliability constraints
Experience targeting a Linux-like development environment
Desirable Qualifications
Experience with Linux kernel internals and/or kernel driver development
Experience with performance analysis tools (e.g. eBPF-based tooling)
