ORIGINAL JOB DESCRIPTION

About the Job

Description Amazon Private Brands (APB) is reinventing Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) with AI at its core. Private Brands Central (PBC) is our PLM platform, and we're building a new generation of AI-native experiences, from Gen AI copilots that accelerate new product development to agentic workflows that automate the manual, high-dwell steps in bringing a product to market. As a Software Development Engineer II on our team, you will design and build the AI-powered components and features that make this happen, working across the full software development lifecycle, from working backwards from customer needs through design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operations. This is a hands-on role where you'll embed Gen AI and agentic capabilities into sourcing, quality, sustainability, and detail-page workflows, turn functional and technical requirements into clean, maintainable code, and collaborate closely with engineers and internal customers to deliver the right solutions. You'll get to apply the latest Gen AI tools and techniques to real, high-volume product-development problems and see the efficiency gains land. Your work will directly shape how APB products are sourced, developed, and launched. Key job responsibilities Design and implement scalable components and features across the PBC PLM platform, translating functional and technical requirements into clean, well-structured code. Contribute across the full software development lifecycle — design, code review, testing, deployment, and operational support — identifying and resolving root causes of operational issues. Build customer-facing experiences and back-end services that support sourcing, quality, sustainability, and detail-page workflows. Collaborate with engineers, product partners, APB stakeholders, and the 3P PLM vendor to understand needs and deliver the right solutions. Evaluate and integrate new tools and approaches — including generative AI and automation capabilities — to improve productivity, code quality, and product-development workflows. A day in the life You might start your morning reviewing a design document for a new PBC feature, then jump into a code review with a teammate before writing code for a capability that helps APB teams move faster. After lunch, you could pair with a colleague to troubleshoot an operational issue, find its root cause, and implement a permanent fix. Throughout, you'll balance new feature work with operational improvements, and regularly connect with the engineers and business partners who rely on the systems you build. About The Team This team builds functional modules within the Private Brands Central Product Lifecycle Management tool to accelerate speed to market for new product development for Amazon Private Brands (APB) and reduce dwell time for specific processes, increasingly powered by Gen AI and automation. Examples include: developing an externalized module for sourcing Request For Quotations (RFQs) from APB suppliers, launching an automated process to manage sustainability and quality related claims for APB products, and automating ASIN and Detail Page creation on Amazon systems. The team is partnering with a 3P solution to build out an integrated PLM tool with an industry-leading software solution. Basic Qualifications 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience Experience programming with at least one software programming language Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers, or experience in developing and deploying LLMs in production on GPUs, Neuron, TPU or other AI acceleration hardware Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers. Finch

Location: New York, NYType: Full-timePosted:

About Finch Our mission is to make justice radically more accessible to every American household. We combine expert operators with purpose-built AI to automate the admin work of consumer law and put clients first by handling intake, claim opening, medical records, police reports, lien management, demands, and everything in between. Since launching in April 2025, we’ve raised a $20M Series A backed by Sequoia, Redpoint, and the founders & CEOs of DoorDash, Ironclad, and Digits and are running pre-litigation for over 125 of the highest-volume personal injury firms across the country. Explore life at Finch for more. A note from Ben Hey, I’m Ben, CTO at Finch. I’m hiring engineers who can (a) understand what needs to be built and why, (b) ship quality work fast, and (c) own the outcomes tied to measurable legal impact. We have an exceptionally talented group of high-personality, collaborative engineers. Nothing matters more to me than keeping that true as we grow. The three reasons engineers generally come to (and stay at) Finch are: High ownership and freedom to build. We give you a problem-space and lots of room to shape the product solution. Meaningful impact and a tight feedback loop. Your work supports real people through difficult moments in their life (i.e. personal injury cases), and you sit next to users. Applied AI work and room to experiment. We are building at the cutting edge of legal AI application. If this sounds exciting, please apply. What you'll do Legal work is full of repetitive tasks, paper-based bottlenecks, and data fragmentation. Your job will be to help us turn that chaos into clarity – using well-designed systems, AI, and thoughtful software. You’ll build fast, ship often, and partner closely with strategy & operations, product, and legal teammates. Own major features end-to-end, from architecture decisions through production release. You’ll scale the foundational software for our legal team, build software and other attorney-facing surfaces, and help explore and build new products and services as we learn where technology can make legal help more accessible. Build reliable, performant systems across our core workflows using Python/Django, React, and AWS. Ship AI-powered functionality that turns legal complexity into clear, usable software for legal professionals and law firms. Collaborate directly with our strategy & operations team – as well as our product, growth, and legal teams – to define what gets built and why. Shape our engineering culture, standards, and practices. The habits we build today will become precedent for our team as we scale. What will make you successful This role is for technical team members who want ownership over outcomes - here's what we think that requires. You’ll likely thrive if you have 2+ years of experience building reliable, secure software in production. Strong product sense: you can lead discovery and prioritize what to build and why. A track record of writing clean, testable, maintainable code, with attention to observability and performance. The judgment to turn an ambiguous problem into useful software and take responsibility for the outcome. A working style grounded in urgency, ownership, and care for the people using what you build. Proficiency in Python and React, or a demonstrated ability to pick up new stacks quickly. It’s a plus if you have Experience with Django, AWS, or OpenAI APIs. Experience at an early-stage startup where you helped establish engineering standards. Familiarity with document processing or data-heavy workflows. This role may not be for you if You prefer a role where the roadmap, process, and success metrics are already defined. You are looking for a narrow remit rather than meaningful ownership across a fast-moving team. You’re looking for a remote-first role. We work together in our NYC office four days a week. What happens next We aim to run a human, efficient process. That generally includes: Intro: An initial conversation about your background, motivation, and the role. Technical interview: A practical, technical session with an engineer. Onsite: A visit to our NYC office to interview, meet the team, and have lunch. Compensation Range: $180K - $280K Show more
