Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Cairo for a Retail IT Systems, Infrastructure & Technical Operations Specialist. The specialist will oversee the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and optimization of retail IT systems, including point-of-sale (POS) platforms, store networks, servers, and related hardware and software. The role includes monitoring system performance, managing incidents and service requests, and ensuring high availability of critical retail and back-office systems. The specialist will coordinate with vendors and internal teams to implement updates, security patches, and infrastructure improvements, and will support the e-commerce platform and integrations with in-store systems. Additional responsibilities involve documenting procedures, training store staff on IT tools, enforcing IT security and data protection standards, and contributing to IT projects that enhance operational efficiency and customer experience. Qualifications Experience with retail IT systems such as POS platforms, store management systems, and inventory or ERP solutions. Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, including networks (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi), servers, storage, and endpoint devices. Skills in technical operations and support, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, incident management, and root cause analysis. Understanding of IT security principles, user access management, data protection, and backup and recovery practices. Ability to work with e-commerce technologies and system integrations between online platforms and in-store systems. Proficiency in documenting procedures, creating technical guides, and training non-technical users. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on reliability and uptime. Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with operations, finance, and store teams.
