ORIGINAL JOB DESCRIPTION

About the Job

Title: Graphic & Visual Communication Intern About Drop Me Drop Me is building AI-native circular recovery infrastructure that connects smart recycling machines, digital experiences, rewards, data, and measurable environmental outcomes. Our brand lives across both physical and digital environments — from the RVM itself and its screen to the app, campaigns, presentations, partnerships and real-world activations. We are looking for a Graphic & Visual Communication Intern who can help turn ideas, information and experiences into visual work that is clear, distinctive and recognisably Drop Me. The Role Your job is not simply to “make designs look nice.” You will help answer a more important question: How should Drop Me look, feel and communicate across every visual touchpoint? You will work across: Brand → Campaigns → Social → Physical RVM Experience → Digital Touchpoints → Presentations → Partner Materials → Print This is a hands-on role where you will design, iterate, receive feedback, and gradually take ownership of real visual outputs. What You Will Work On 1. Brand Identity Help maintain and strengthen a consistent Drop Me visual language. You will: Apply the Drop Me visual identity consistently. Work with typography, colour, hierarchy, imagery and layout. Develop reusable visual systems rather than isolated designs. Identify inconsistencies across existing materials. Adapt the identity to new formats without losing brand recognition. Help build and maintain templates, components and visual guidelines. The goal is consistency without making everything look identical. 2. Social & Campaign Design Create visual assets connected to real campaigns and growth objectives. This may include: Social posts. Carousels. Stories. Reels covers. Campaign key visuals. Paid-media creatives. Partnership announcements. Competition and reward communications. Awareness campaigns. Event and activation materials. You should be able to translate one campaign idea into a coherent visual family, rather than designing every asset from zero. 3. RVM & Physical Experience Drop Me is a physical product as well as a digital brand. You may help design: RVM external graphics. Machine communication zones. User instructions. Signage. Stickers. QR-code communication. Activation materials. Posters. Educational visuals. On-ground campaign elements. Host/location branding integrations. Design decisions must consider: distance, readability, user movement, lighting, material, printing, and real-world scale. A design that works on a laptop but fails when printed on a machine is not finished. 4. Screen & Digital Visual Support You may support the visual presentation of: RVM screen content. Educational slides. Promotional screen content. App campaign assets. Offers and reward visuals. Icons and illustrations. Simple visual components. You may collaborate with UI/UX and engineering teams. This role is not primarily a UI/UX Product Design role, but a good understanding of digital interfaces and responsive visual design is valuable. 5. Presentations & Business Communication A significant part of the Drop Me brand is seen by partners, clients, investors, and institutions. You may design or improve: Pitch decks. Commercial presentations. Partnership proposals. One-pagers. Case studies. Reports. Company profiles. Training materials. Operational guides. Your responsibility is not decoration. You should help turn complex information into a visual hierarchy that allows someone to understand: What matters first? What supports it? What can be understood visually instead of through another paragraph? 6. Data & Information Visualization You may work with: KPIs. Dashboards. Charts. Process diagrams. User journeys. Infographics. Technical flows. Environmental-impact communication. You should be able to simplify information without distorting it. Visual clarity must never come at the expense of accuracy. 7. Print & Production Readiness You will gradually learn to prepare files that can leave the screen and enter production. This may include: Print-ready PDFs. Correct dimensions. Bleed and margins. Colour profiles. Resolution checks. Vector assets. Large-format applications. Vendor handoff files. You are not expected to know every production standard on Day 1, but attention to technical output quality is important. 8. Basic Motion & Short-Form Visuals Depending on your skills, you may support: Simple motion graphics. Animated social assets. Screen transitions. Reel graphics. Basic logo/brand animation. Short promotional visual sequences. Advanced animation is not mandatory. Good timing, hierarchy, and visual storytelling matter more than unnecessary effects. Your Design Process For meaningful assignments, we expect you to gradually work through: Brief → Context → References → Concept → Design → Feedback → Iteration → Final Output → Source File Not: Brief → Canva template → Export You should be comfortable explaining: Why you made a visual choice. What problem it solves. What you rejected. What changed after feedback. File & Asset Discipline Design work must remain usable by the team after you finish it. You will be expected to: Maintain editable source files. Use clear naming conventions. Organise folders and assets. Avoid missing links/fonts/assets. Keep versions understandable. Use reusable components where appropriate. Export files in the correct format and resolution. Preserve original/master files. Avoid destructive edits where possible. A beautiful final JPG with an unusable source file is not a complete delivery. What Good Performance Looks Like Over time, you should become able to: Understand a brief before opening a design tool. Apply Drop Me branding consistently. Build a visual concept rather than only an individual asset. Produce several formats from one visual system. Improve hierarchy and readability. Take feedback without losing the original objective. Spot visual inconsistencies independently. Prepare professional editable source files. Design for both digital and physical environments. Explain your design decisions clearly. Deliver on time without sacrificing fundamental quality. What We Are Looking For You may be studying or recently graduated from graphic design, visual communication, applied arts, fine arts, media, advertising, or another relevant field. Your portfolio matters more than your degree title. You should have: Strong visual sense. Good understanding of layout and hierarchy. Typography awareness. Attention to detail. Curiosity about brands and visual systems. Ability to receive and apply feedback. Ability to work across different formats. Basic understanding of digital and print outputs. Good file organisation habits. Ability to work independently after receiving sufficient context. Tools Strong familiarity with some of the following is useful: Adobe Illustrator Adobe Photoshop Adobe InDesign Figma Canva Adobe After Effects Premiere Pro or equivalent video tools You do not need to master all of them. We care more about the quality of your thinking and execution than the number of software logos on your CV. AI & Generative Design Tools AI-assisted creative tools are welcome when used responsibly. You may use AI for: Visual exploration. Moodboards. Image ideation. Background generation. Concept exploration. Copy/creative brainstorming. Asset variations. Production assistance. But generated output must never replace design judgment. You are responsible for checking: Brand consistency. Accuracy. Composition. Copyright/licensing implications. Image quality. Unwanted artifacts. Misleading visual claims. Whether the result actually solves the brief. We expect you to know when to use AI, edit AI, or ignore AI entirely. You May Work With You may collaborate with: Brand & Growth. Product. UI/UX. Software Engineering. AI / BI. Operations. Mechanical / Manufacturing teams. Partnerships & Business Development. Leadership. A visual may therefore need to satisfy several realities at once: brand, user experience, engineering, production, and commercial communication. This Role Is Probably Not for You If You mainly want to: Design only social-media posts. Depend heavily on templates. Copy references without developing an original direction. Ignore alignment, spacing or typography details. Deliver flattened files with no editable source. Treat every brief as a chance to add more effects. Become defensive when receiving feedback. Use AI-generated visuals without reviewing them. Prioritise visual decoration over communication. What You Can Learn Here The internship can expose you to: Brand Identity Visual Communication Campaign Design Social Design Physical Product Branding RVM Experience Design Presentation Design Information Visualization Print Production Digital Design Basic Motion Partner & Commercial Communication AI-Assisted Creative Work The unusual part is that your work will not live only on Instagram. It may appear on a machine, mobile screen, partner presentation, printed installation, campaign, dashboard, or physical location. The Standard We do not expect an intern to arrive knowing everything. We do expect you to develop the habit of asking: What is the message? Who needs to understand it? Where will they see it? What should their eye notice first? Does this still work outside my design file? When those questions become part of your design process, you are no longer just producing graphics. You are building visual communication. Show more
