About the Job
Role The Junior Accountant supports day-to-day accounting and makes sure every closed deal reaches Finance accurate, fully documented and ready to invoice. The role is the control point between the Commercial team and Finance: it checks CRM data, verifies sales orders, keeps deal documents properly filed, and reports on deals that are not yet invoiced. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities – General Accounting Prepare and issue sales invoices and credit notes once deals are confirmed invoice-ready. Record day-to-day transactions accurately in the accounting system. Support accounts receivable: monitor outstanding balances, send payment reminders and update customer statements. Process supplier invoices and support accounts payable, including matching invoices to purchase orders. Prepare bank and petty cash reconciliations. Support VAT compliance by checking that invoices show correct client TRNs and VAT treatment, and by preparing supporting schedules for VAT returns. Assist with month-end closing, including accruals, prepayments and ledger reviews. Maintain accurate and organized financial records and supporting documents for audit purposes. Assist the Accountant with ad-hoc reports, analysis and audit requests. Key Responsibilities – Commercial & Deal Control 1. Follow up with the Commercial team to correct errors or fill gaps. 2. Flag any mismatch between the CRM, the sales order and the supporting documents. 4. Drive & Filing Management Make sure the Commercial team saves deal documents in the correct Drive folders, using the agreed folder structure and naming convention. Run regular spot checks and ask the team to fix misfiled or missing documents. Maintain the folder structure and keep a clean audit trail for every deal. 5. Tracking & Reporting Maintain a tracker of deals with pending documents, showing ageing and owner. Report weekly on closed deals not yet invoiced and on recurring documentation issues. 6. Strong Excel skills and comfort with Google Drive or SharePoint. Personal Attributes Excellent spoken and written English, with the confidence to communicate clearly and professionally with the Commercial team, clients and Finance. Very high attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Confident following up with sales teams, and persistent without being pushy. Show more
