Department: Digital & Technology Platform Services, Enabling Technology Location: New Cairo, Egypt We are looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic team. The Cloud Senior Engineer ensures the reliable, secure, efficient, and automated operation of the organization’s cloud environment. The role combines hands-on cloud engineering, automation, and operational ownership, covering environment management, monitoring, troubleshooting, incident resolution, and continuous improvement. Working closely with Cloud SRE, Cloud Automation, Architects, and vendors, the role uses Infrastructure as Code, scripting, and cloud-native automation to reduce manual effort, improve resilience, and operate cloud services effectively at scale. YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Cloud Environment Administration & Management: Perform hands-on administration and operational management of cloud infrastructure and platform services, including configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, resource management, access-related operational activities, and implementation of approved changes. Ensure cloud resources remain operationally healthy, appropriately configured, supported, and aligned with defined platform, security, and architecture standards. • Cloud Automation: Design, develop, and maintain automation for cloud operational activities using Infrastructure as Code, scripting, APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native automation capabilities. Automate repetitive administration, configuration, remediation, monitoring, and maintenance activities to reduce manual intervention, improve consistency, and increase operational efficiency. Collaborate with the Cloud Automation team on reusable automation patterns, standards, pipelines, and platform-level capabilities. • Infrastructure as Code & Configuration Management: Use and maintain Infrastructure as Code and configuration management practices for cloud infrastructure changes and operational activities. Contribute to Terraform modules, automation scripts, pipelines, and reusable operational components, ensuring changes are version-controlled, repeatable, tested, and deployed through established engineering processes • Cloud Monitoring & Performance Management: Use tools such as Dynatrace, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and other observability capabilities to proactively identify performance, capacity, availability, and reliability issues. Takes ownership of follow-up actions, ensuring resolution is coordinated with appropriate authority and accountability. • Incident & Problem Management: Own and drive operational incident and problem resolution in collaboration with Cloud SRE and service providers. Perform technical troubleshooting and remediation, coordinates post-incident reviews, and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented. Identify recurring issues that can be eliminated through automation, architecture improvements, or changes to operational processes • Vendor cloud operations oversight: Collaborate with Cloud SRE and as a team they act as the primary contact for vendor-managed cloud services. Ensure service delivery meets contractual obligations, including SLAs, SLRs, and performance KPIs. • Operational maturity improvements: Collaborate with Cloud SRE and work as a team to contribute to the continuous improvement of cloud operations maturity, focusing on resilience, observability, and process standardization. • Monthly operations review: Participate in structured reviews with vendors, focusing on root cause analysis, completed or pending service requests, and operational improvement proposals. • Cross-functional collaboration: Engage with technical and business stakeholders to align cloud operations with project timelines, technical requirements, and business priorities. • Knowledge transfer & team enablement: Share technical knowledge and operational insights across the Cloud team. Support capability development and promote a high-performing, consistent operational culture. ARE THESE YOUR SECRET INGREDIENTS? • Strong (3-5 years) hands-on knowledge of cloud infrastructure and platform services, particularly Microsoft Azure, including compute, storage, networking, identity, monitoring, resilience, and common PaaS services. Able to administer, troubleshoot, configure, and optimize cloud environments. • Cloud Automation & Infrastructure as Code: 3-5 years hands-on capability in Infrastructure as Code and cloud automation technologies such as Terraform, PowerShell, Azure CLI, APIs, Azure DevOps and GitHub. Able to develop and maintain automation that supports infrastructure provisioning, configuration, remediation, operational activities, and environment management. • Cloud Operations & Troubleshooting: Strong ability to investigate and resolve cloud infrastructure issues across compute, networking, storage, identity, monitoring, and platform services. Able to work independently on complex operational issues and coordinate resolution across internal teams and vendors. • Monitoring & Observability: Experience with Dynatrace, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, ServiceNow, and related observability capabilities. Able to interpret operational telemetry, identify trends and abnormal behavior, and translate findings into technical remediation or service improvements. • Incident & Vendor Management: Skilled in managing complex incidents, technical escalations, root cause analysis, and service providers while maintaining ownership of the technical outcome and agreed operational KPIs. • Automation-First Mindset: Ability to identify repetitive or error-prone operational activities and convert them into standardized and automated solutions, reducing manual effort and improving reliability. • Data-Driven Decision Making: Ability to analyze operational, performance, capacity, reliability, and cost data and translate it into actionable technical recommendations and improvements. • Collaboration & Communication. • Resilient and reliable under pressure. • Strong operational discipline. • Curious and proactive in finding better ways to operate. • Excellent communicator.
