About the Job
About the Company We're a woman- and veteran-owned American direct primary care company based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. We believe healthcare should be affordable, personal, and human, not something you navigate through an insurance company. Our mission: to give people healthcare they can afford, without hiding what it costs. Our model is different from traditional US healthcare: members pay a flat $80/month instead of going through insurance. That covers unlimited same-day and next-day visits, 24/7 call and text access to their provider, generic medications, labs, and telehealth. Beyond that, our on-site pharmacy offers low-cost wholesale pricing on other prescriptions, and we provide integrative medicine, weight management, hormone therapy, and screening. We serve two groups: individual members and self-funded employers, meaning companies that pay for their employees' healthcare directly. Our three public clinics in Colorado, Arizona, and Texas care for individuals and families, while embedded clinics inside employer workplaces, like warehouses and beer distributors across the US, bring care to employees and their families. OUR COMPANY VALUES guide our team and shape our culture: ๐ผ Integrity ๐ Respect ๐ Trust ๐ก๏ธ Loyalty ๐ช Hard Work ๐ค Team Work About the Role We're looking for a remote Part-Time Business Intelligence Analyst to build the analytics capability the business runs on. This is more than reporting or dashboard building. In this role, you'll turn our clinical, operational, and financial data into dashboards that employer partners and leadership can trust. You might be asked how utilization compares across locations or how much we're saving in avoided costs, and be expected to deliver a validated, ready-to-present answer. Right now we crunch these numbers by hand, and this role closes that gap. You're joining at a pivotal moment: our employer partners are expanding, and showing them their utilization is how we earn more contracts. Our Administrative Assistant built our first dashboards, and you'll take them further. Leadership drives the vision and the questions; you bring the structure that makes them actionable. Our IDEAL CANDIDATE brings 3โ5 years of experience in roles like BI Analyst, Data Analyst, Dashboard Developer, or Reporting Analyst. You see a manual reporting process and immediately think, "we can automate this." You don't wait to be told what's next, and you grasp our vision before we've finished explaining it. You ask good questions, push back when numbers don't add up, and think about the business behind the data, not just the request. You're comfortable being the data expert in the room and telling us when there's a better approach or tool. Just as important, you find joy in the work and the people, connect on a human level, and feel the weight of your impact on real patients and businesses, however many time zones away you are. Performance Metrics: Your performance will be measured by dashboard accuracy, stakeholder clarity, the scalability of your data models, and how quickly you move from business question to finished analytical product. Reporting Structure: You'll be on the Admin Team, working closely with the Administrative Assistant, and reporting to the CEO and COO. You'll be doing things like: Data Architecture & Modeling: designing scalable data models for employer clients and future reporting; standardizing data structures and how datasets connect; moving reporting from spreadsheets to a scalable analytics environment with less manual work; creating repeatable processes for adding new employer groups and data sources; recommending architecture as data volume grows Data Integration & Preparation: pulling data from EMR APIs using Swagger documentation and SQL queries; integrating payroll and eligibility feeds from platforms like Paycom, which supply total employee counts; combining Excel, CSV, database, and claims sources; cleaning and standardizing inconsistent data; building ETL pipelines; applying healthcare cost benchmarks and visit codes to assign dollar values to encounters; adapting as the EMR adds new data and features Data Quality & Validation: reconciling dashboards and cross-referenced sources to source data; monitoring payroll and eligibility feeds for breaks or gaps; flagging discrepancies and questionable results for review; building quality-control processes and validation checkpoints for recurring and external reports KPI Governance & Documentation: defining key metrics consistently, like eligible population, active patients, utilization rates, and program savings; maintaining a centralized data dictionary (definitions, calculations, inclusion/exclusion criteria, sources, ownership); documenting dashboards, data models, limitations, and assumptions so the business never depends on one person to maintain them Power BI Dashboard Development: building and improving interactive, real-time dashboards for employer partners and internal leadership; creating reusable templates; writing and troubleshooting DAX measures and calculated columns; optimizing performance; adding drill-downs, KPI cards, trend comparisons, and executive-level visuals; refining based on user feedback; expanding into executive, marketing, clinical quality, program-outcome, provider capacity, and financial dashboards as the company grows Power BI Service & Deployment: publishing and maintaining dashboards in Power BI Service; managing workspaces, permissions, scheduled refreshes, and report distribution; configuring row-level security so employer clients see only their own data; implementing gateways when appropriate; setting up development, testing, and production processes for important reports; troubleshooting refresh and connectivity issues Healthcare Analysis & Executive Reporting: analyzing clinical utilization, population health trends, pharmacy data, and employer engagement; calculating cost savings (including prescription savings), cost avoidance, and ROI; evaluating prescription costs and high-cost medications to find savings; comparing locations, populations, and time periods, quarter over quarter and year over year; separating meaningful findings from normal variation; flagging where performance or engagement needs attention; preparing employer quarterly reports for CEO presentation; translating findings into clear, executive-level insights Data Privacy & Security: following HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) and internal requirements for storing, transmitting, and accessing sensitive data; handling protected health information (PHI) appropriately, with minimum necessary access; de-identifying or aggregating patient data for broader or non-clinical audiences; keeping employer datasets separate; reporting privacy, security, or data-integrity concerns immediately Skills & Qualifications 3โ5 years of experience in roles like BI Analyst, Data Analyst, Dashboard Developer, Reporting Analyst, or BI Developer, ideally at a smaller or growing company Strong hands-on experience with Power BI (or comparable tools like Tableau or Looker) Advanced Power Query and strong DAX skills for data transformation and calculated measures Solid relational data modeling, including how datasets connect Strong Excel skills, including complex formulas and data manipulation Experience cleaning and combining data from multiple sources Validating analytical results against source data Building meaningful KPIs directly from business requirements Designing clean, executive-ready dashboards Documenting technical processes clearly Sharp attention to detail, with the ability to independently catch and fix data-quality issues Strong analytical and problem-solving instincts Explaining complex data in plain business terms to non-technical stakeholders Comfortable working independently with limited supervision A builder's mindset: you think beyond a single report, design scalable, reusable solutions, and speak up with a better approach or tool Bonus if you also have: SQL, Python, or another language for working with structured data Experience working with APIs, including OAuth 2.0 authentication, and integrating external data feeds Power BI Service experience, including row-level security and scheduled refresh/gateway management Experience with ETL, data pipeline automation, and automating data refresh or reconciliation Experience building executive dashboards for multi-location organizations or client-facing reporting Familiarity with EMR, CRM, or practice-management systems Familiarity with HIPAA and PHI A healthcare analytics background (population health, employer health programs, claims, pharmacy, or cost-savings data); strong technical skills and a quick grasp of healthcare terminology more than make up for not having this Familiarity with our tools: Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Google Drive, SigmaMD, ChatGPT, and Power BI Position Details Working Hours: 8AMโ12PM MT (Mountain Time). Adjusts with Daylight Saving Time. Employment Type: Part-time (20 hours/week) Education: No formal education required; relevant work experience and demonstrated analytical capability are what matter here. Level: Intermediate (3โ5 years of relevant work experience) Compensation: USD $346-576 (18K-30K EGP) per month, based on experience and region.
