Role Description The Commercial & QS Engineer / Electrical is a full-time, on-site role based in Cairo, responsible for managing the commercial and quantity surveying aspects of electrical works within construction and fit-out projects. This role involves preparing bills of quantities, cost estimates, and tender documents for electrical systems, as well as evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure technical and commercial compliance. The engineer will participate in contract negotiations, support project budgeting and cost control, and track variations and claims throughout the project lifecycle. Daily tasks include coordinating with design, engineering, procurement, and site teams to validate quantities, monitor progress, and ensure that electrical installations meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards. The role also requires preparing technical and commercial reports, supporting client presentations, and contributing to continuous improvement of commercial and QS processes. Qualifications Demonstrated experience in Sales Engineering and technical selling of electrical systems or construction-related solutions. Strong Communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal project teams. Experience in Training, including the ability to guide team members or clients on technical and commercial aspects of electrical works. Proven background in Sales and business development within the construction, fit-out, or electrical engineering sectors. Effective Negotiation skills for managing contracts, pricing, and commercial terms with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Solid understanding of quantity surveying principles, cost estimation, and tendering processes for electrical works. Familiarity with relevant construction standards, codes, and safety regulations in electrical engineering. Proficiency in MS Office and industry-standard estimating or QS software; knowledge of AutoCAD or similar tools is an advantage. Ability to work on-site, handle multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
