About Stochastic Stochastic is a newly established quantitative software startup headquartered in Nasr City, Cairo. Founded by a PhD graduate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the company is building high-performance quantitative software systems and AI-driven trading algorithms for the U.S. stock market. About the Role We are seeking a highly capable Computer Engineer or Computer Scientist with strong proficiency in Python, particularly NumPy and pandas, excellent attention to detail, and a solid foundation in algorithms, data structures, and computational reasoning. Strong English proficiency is required, including the ability to write clear technical reports and documentation. Key Responsibilities Develop components of our Python trading system. Process and validate historical and real-time market data. Implement quantitative algorithms, indicators, and trading logic. Optimize code for performance, reliability, and efficiency. Write clear technical documentation and tests. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Engineering or Computer Science. Strong proficiency in Python. GPA of 3.5 or above, or an overall grade of 80% or above. Strong written and spoken English, including technical writing. For Egyptian citizens: military service must be completed or an official exemption obtained. This is a full-time role requiring full commitment. In line with company policy, concurrent university study, other employment, or freelance work is not permitted. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as a teaching assistant at a university. Participation in programming competitions (e.g., ICPC, ECPC) is a strong advantage. Work Model & Compensation Location: Nasr City, Cairo, Egypt Full-time, on-site — no remote work Working hours: Monday to Friday, 2:00–10:00 p.m., aligned with U.S. market hours. Salary: EGP 25,000 gross per month (fixed) Signing bonus: EGP 15,000 Interview Process Round 1: In-person introductory interview and one Python programming problem to solve and code without AI assistance.
