Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting, taxation, import/export documentation, and statutory compliance for our Egypt operations. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of Egyptian accounting and tax regulations, along with experience in import/export and logistics-related financial processes. Key Responsibilities Accounting & Finance Maintain day-to-day accounting records, including sales, purchases, receipts, payments, expenses, and journal entries. Prepare bank, supplier, customer, and intercompany reconciliations. Manage accounts payable and receivable, monitor collections, and assist in monthly and year-end financial closing. Prepare financial reports and maintain accurate accounting records. Import, Export & Shipping Accounting Review and maintain import/export and shipping documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, airway bills, customs declarations, and related documents. Coordinate with logistics teams, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and clearing agents to ensure timely shipment processing. Record and verify landed costs, including product cost, freight, customs duties, clearance charges, insurance, and other logistics expenses. Maintain shipment-wise costing and ensure proper accounting of import/export transactions. Ensure compliance with Egyptian import/export regulations and documentation requirements. Taxation & Compliance Prepare and support VAT, withholding tax, income tax, and corporate tax filings in accordance with Egyptian regulations. Ensure timely payment of statutory obligations and maintain tax records. Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, banks, and government authorities during audits and compliance reviews. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field. 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in trading, import/export, logistics, or distribution companies. Strong knowledge of Egyptian accounting standards, VAT, withholding tax, income tax, and corporate tax. Experience with import/export procedures, customs documentation, and shipment costing. Job Purpose The Sr Accountant is a key member of the finance team responsible for performing complex account reconciliations and in-depth financial analysis. This role involves the preparation and posting of journal vouchers, including consolidations and intercompany eliminations. The Sr Accountant is tasked with reviewing and monitoring financial transactions, resolving complex accounting issues, and ensuring the accuracy of all financial data. Compliance & Asset Management Oversee and approve the accurate recording of VAT and withholding taxes to ensure full compliance. Ensure tax recording, provision, and compliance are in line with local and international standards. Determine and classify fixed assets according to company policy, and maintain a fixed asset register to review straight-line depreciation on a monthly basis. Construct, review, and update accounting procedures, processes, and other related documents to ensure best practices. Qualifications ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in Commerce with a major in Accounting. A professional certificate such as CMA, CPA, or ACCA is a significant plus. Excellent command of both spoken and written English and Arabic. Knowledge Expertise in Microsoft Office applications, with advanced proficiency in Excel. Proficiency with a Reporting Tool (e.g., Hyperion, Cognos, SAP FC) is highly desired. Strong knowledge of financial statements preparation. A deep understanding of Egyptian Accounting Standards (EAS) and IFRS is a must. Experience 5 to 7 years of relevant work experience, preferably within a multinational environment. Experience with statutory financial requirements. Experience with MS Dynamics is a plus.
