We are developing a serviced-apartment property in Nasr City with high-quality finishing and furnishings. The initial opening will include 16 apartments across two floors, with planned expansion to 40 apartments across five floors.
We are seeking a General Manager to prepare the business for opening, build its operating team, develop booking channels, and manage guest satisfaction and financial performance.
Role purpose
Take responsibility for establishing and running an efficient, commercially successful property. This is an operational role requiring direct involvement in sales, staffing, guest service, and cost control.
Pre-opening responsibilities
Prepare and execute a pre-opening plan covering staffing, operating procedures, systems, suppliers, sales, and guest readiness.
Develop the operating budget, staffing structure, purchasing requirements, and working-capital forecast for owner approval.
Recruit and train the team, with clear responsibilities and service standards.
Establish procedures for reservations, check-in and check-out, housekeeping, maintenance, payments, complaints, and emergencies.
Select and implement suitable property-management, booking, and reporting systems.
Establish booking-platform listings, direct-booking processes, pricing, and relationships with corporate clients and travel partners.
Coordinate with the owners, construction team, and specialist advisers on handover, licensing, safety, and opening readiness.
Operating responsibilities
Manage daily operations across reception, housekeeping, maintenance, security, and external service providers.
Lead sales and marketing activities, build corporate and travel-partner relationships, and manage campaigns and budgets to increase bookings and profitable revenue.
Maintain consistent apartment cleanliness, presentation, equipment condition, and guest service.
Drive bookings through online platforms, direct enquiries, corporate accounts, and relevant local partnerships.
Manage rates, availability, length-of-stay offers, and channel mix to improve revenue and profitability.
Control payroll, purchasing, utilities, supplies, commissions, and other operating expenses.
Oversee payment collection, cash controls, supplier performance, and inventory.
Resolve guest complaints and manage online reviews.
Provide the owners with regular reports on occupancy, average daily rate, revenue, operating profit, cash flow, and corrective actions.
Prepare the operation for additional apartments as further floors become ready.
Candidate requirements
Proven experience as a General Manager, Hotel Manager, or Operations Manager in serviced apartments, a boutique hotel, or a comparable accommodation business.
Proven experience generating bookings and growing accommodation revenue through direct sales, corporate accounts, travel partners, and online booking platforms.
