English Language Teacher (TSP) – Inspire, Engage, Make an Impact Are you passionate about teaching English and creating meaningful learning experiences that truly inspire? In this role, you will plan and deliver effective English lessons tailored to diverse learner needs, ensuring your teaching consistently meets British Council Global Teaching Standards. You will track learner progress, provide meaningful feedback, and encourage learner autonomy, while actively engaging in professional development to maintain excellence in teaching and learning. As part of the teaching centre team, you will contribute to centre activities, course development, staff collaboration and local marketing initiatives, helping to deliver outstanding customer service and a positive student experience. Building strong relationships with students and colleagues is central to the role, as is promoting intercultural understanding and awareness of UK values through classroom and out‑of‑class activities. You will also ensure all work aligns with British Council policies on safeguarding, equality and inclusion, data protection, special educational needs, and health and safety. Cambridge CELTA and/or Trinity Certificate TESOL (TEFLi) or equivalent. Essential Experience: 0-2 years post-certificate experience (TEFLi) (and/or equivalent to 1,200 hours). Salary and other benefits Gross monthly salary: 23,250 EGP Other benefits and allowances: As per applicable laws, the British Council will deduct contributions from your EGP monthly salary at rates determined by the National Social Insurance Authority. Annual leave allowance: 35 days per year of paid leave, plus a minimum of 14 public holidays Medical Insurance: You and your family will be covered by the Council’s Group Medical Insurance, which offers comprehensive coverage. Important Information Role: Teacher of English (Teacher Support Programme (TSP)) Locations: Egypt (Agouza, City Stars, Aspire, 6th October City, Alex KLS and Alex BSA) Contract type: 1-year fixed-term contract Working hours: 37.5 hours Right to work in the country - This opportunity is open to Egyptian nationals only. Work permits can only be obtained via the British Council for Egyptian passport holders. Key Responsibilities: Develop, test, and maintain embedded firmware for energy metering products under the guidance of senior engineers. Implement and maintain firmware features using C/C++ while following coding standards and engineering guidelines. Support firmware integration with hardware components, including ADCs, timers, communication interfaces, and metrology modules. Contribute to both bare-metal and RTOS-based firmware development. Develop and support communication interfaces such as UART, SPI, I²C, and, where applicable, RS-485. Participate in firmware debugging, validation, and testing using IDE debuggers, JTAG/SWD, and laboratory tools. Support Flash/EEPROM management, data integrity mechanisms, and basic firmware security features such as integrity checks and secure boot. Assist with build configurations, Makefiles, firmware artifacts, and development workflows using Git. Analyze defects, perform root-cause investigations, implement fixes, and participate in code reviews. Collaborate with Hardware, QA, and Validation teams during firmware bring-up, integration, and testing activities.
