We're looking for a Lead .NET Backend Engineer who combines strong hands-on engineering expertise with technical leadership. You'll lead the design and development of scalable backend services, drive engineering best practices, and help the team make sound technical decisions while remaining actively involved in coding and delivery.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role for someone who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges, improving system architecture, and helping other engineers grow.
What you'll be working on
Lead the design, development, and evolution of scalable backend applications and services using C#, .NET Core / ASP.NET Core, and Microsoft SQL Server.
Define and promote sound technical approaches for REST APIs, microservices, integrations, and distributed systems.
Translate product and business requirements into robust, maintainable, and scalable technical solutions.
Drive technical design discussions and make informed decisions around performance, security, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
Lead code reviews, promote coding standards, and ensure high-quality engineering practices across the team.
Investigate and resolve complex production issues, performance bottlenecks, and database optimization challenges.
Work closely with Product, Frontend, QA, DevOps, and other engineering teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
Support automated testing, CI/CD practices, deployment processes, and continuous improvement of engineering workflows.
Mentor and support backend engineers, providing technical guidance and encouraging knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
Take ownership of technical solutions throughout their lifecycle, from design and development to deployment, monitoring, and ongoing improvement.
Evaluate and encourage the responsible use of modern development tools, including AI-assisted engineering, to improve productivity and code quality.
We're looking for someone who
Has 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with substantial hands-on experience in backend development.
Has strong expertise in C#, .NET Core / ASP.NET Core, and Microsoft SQL Server.
Has a proven track record of designing and developing scalable APIs, backend services, and system integrations.
Has a solid understanding of software architecture, object-oriented design, design patterns, SOLID principles, and distributed systems.
Has experience making technical decisions, reviewing code, and establishing engineering standards or best practices.
Has experience optimizing relational databases, troubleshooting complex issues, and improving application performance and reliability.
Has experience mentoring developers or providing technical guidance to engineering teams.
Understands automated testing, CI/CD, Git, and modern Agile software development practices.
Has exposure to cloud platforms, Docker, and containerized applications.
Demonstrates strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Is comfortable balancing hands-on development with technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
