The Software Development Manager works closely with Product Management, Project Management, Solution Architects, Technical Leads, Business Analysts, Quality Engineers, DevOps, and clients to ensure successful technical delivery throughout the software development lifecycle. What You Will Be Doing Product Engineering & Engineering Leadership Own the engineering delivery lifecycle for VeriTouch, from requirements analysis, estimation, and solution design through development, testing, deployment, release, go-live, warranty, and transition to support. Lead a high-performing product development team consisting of developers, business analysts, quality engineers, technical leads, and other technical specialists, ensuring effective planning, execution, and delivery. Establish and manage engineering plans, milestones, dependencies, assumptions, risks, acceptance criteria, and resource requirements. Ensure development tasks, estimates, engineering plans, and resource allocations are realistic, aligned, and consistent with product priorities. Monitor engineering progress through work-management tools and engineering metrics, including backlog health, planned versus completed effort, defect trends, technical debt, cycle time, and deployment readiness. Identify delivery deviations early and lead recovery actions through reprioritization, resource allocation, scope adjustment, process improvement, automation, or timeline reassessment. Continuously improve software engineering practices, development standards, quality processes, and governance mechanisms. Maintain clear engineering ownership while collaborating with Product Management and Implementation teams to align product priorities with customer and business objectives. Solution Design & Technical Governance Provide technical leadership across the design and implementation of VeriTouch, Dynamics 365 CE, and Microsoft Power Platform solutions. Partner with Solution Architects, Product Management, and business stakeholders to define high-level designs, technical roadmaps, product-level solution designs, and implementation approaches. Govern the transition from requirements and Statement of Work through functional requirements, gap analysis, solution design, technical design, development, testing, and deployment where applicable. Review technical design documents, integration specifications, data models, security designs, deployment architecture, and non-functional requirements. Ensure functional and technical requirements are complete, testable, traceable, and aligned with approved scope and architecture. Promote a configuration-first and low-code/no-code approach, using Dynamics 365 out-of-the-box capabilities, Power Platform, and VeriTouch functionality wherever appropriate, and introducing custom development only when technically and functionally justified. Oversee technical decisions related to technologies including Plugins, SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Customer Insights, Copilot, Copilot Studio, Agents, and other relevant Microsoft technologies. Identify design, scope, product capability, and technical gaps and ensure they are addressed through configuration, extension, customization, or formal change control. Establish and maintain appropriate release criteria, go/no-go decision processes, rollback procedures, and post-release validation practices. Partner with Product Management, QA, DevOps, Architecture, and Implementation teams to ensure production releases are predictable, stable, and sustainable. Client, Stakeholder & Delivery Governance Funciton as a senior technical contact for clients where engineering leadership or technical governance is required throughout the project lifecycle. Lead or support discovery workshops, design reviews, technical governance meetings, project boards, steering committees, escalation discussions, and go-live readiness reviews. Communicate technical risks, trade-offs, dependencies, delivery impact, and mitigation options clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Challenge unsupported, high-risk, or unnecessarily customized requirements and recommend sustainable alternatives. Ensure key actions, decisions, assumptions, dependencies, and owners are documented and followed through to closure. Manage technical escalations constructively while maintaining trusted and professional client relationships. Work closely with Project Management on scope, schedule, cost, dependencies, and client governance while maintaining clear ownership of engineering delivery and technical execution. Ensure customer project delivery activities remain aligned with the relevant implementation governance structure. Presales, Estimation & Project Initiation Participate in presales, discovery, solutioning, and project-initiation activities. Review and contribute to RFP/RFI responses, Statements of Work, technical proposals, solution architecture documents, estimates, assumptions, dependencies, and project plans. Validate whether requirements can be delivered through Dynamics 365 out-of-the-box capabilities, configuration, Power Platform, VeriTouch product functionality, or custom development. Ensure technical estimates are supported by clear and measurable assumptions, including integrations, APIs, entities, fields, workflows, validations, reports, data volumes, and non-functional requirements. Identify scope gaps, exclusions, delivery risks, dependencies, and potential change requests before commercial or delivery commitments are approved. Support technical presentations, solution demonstrations, and clarification sessions with prospects and clients. Engineering Quality, ALM & DevOps Define and enforce engineering quality gates across analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and go-live. Ensure appropriate unit, integration, regression, performance, security, and non-functional testing is planned and executed. Oversee code review practices, code-quality standards, static analysis, defect management, and root-cause analysis. Ensure managed and unmanaged solutions, development environments, and production changes follow approved ALM and deployment practices. Review deployment plans, release notes, runbooks, environment-readiness checklists, rollback plans, and post-deployment validation activities. Oversee SIT and UAT readiness, defect triage, stabilization, and production transition. Ensure production support findings and recurring incidents are translated into preventive engineering actions and improvements. Confirm operational readiness, including monitoring, logging, support documentation, knowledge transfer, and warranty arrangements, before go-live. Security, Privacy & Technical Compliance Ensure solutions comply with applicable security, privacy, regulatory, audit, and data-retention requirements, particularly within banking and insurance environments. Ensure security and privacy considerations are incorporated into architecture, technical designs, testing, deployment, and support processes. Govern appropriate security-role design, least-privilege access, segregation of duties, field-level security, and audit requirements. Validate integration security, authentication, authorization, secrets management, logging, and sensitive-data handling. Ensure security findings and incidents are appropriately tracked, remediated, and incorporated into preventive engineering controls. Coordinate with security, architecture, infrastructure, compliance, and client teams when significant technical or regulatory risks arise. AI, Innovation & Continuous Improvement Drive responsible adoption of Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot, Copilot Studio, AI Builder, and other approved AI-assisted engineering tools.
