General Accountant

We are a Project Management and Construction company seeking a detail-oriented and organized General Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reconciliations and reports, and assisting with month-end and year-end closing activities. Key Responsibilities: 1. Record and maintain accurate accounting transactions, including invoices, payments, receipts, and general ledger entries. 2. Perform bank, cash, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other account reconciliations and ensure discrepancies are identified and resolved. 3. Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes, ensuring all required accounting entries and supporting documents are completed accurately and on time. 4. Support the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and financial analysis, including the Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow Statement. 5. Monitor accounts payable and receivable, follow up on outstanding balances, and ensure proper documentation of financial transactions. 6. Assist with budgeting, cash flow monitoring, audit requirements, and financial reporting by providing accurate data and supporting documents. 7. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, tax requirements, and internal controls, while maintaining organized and accurate financial records. 8. Identify accounting discrepancies and support process improvements to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of accounting operations. Requirements 1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. 2. 2–5 years of relevant experience in General Accounting, preferably within an engineering corporate environment. 3. Good understanding of general accounting principles, financial transactions, reconciliations, and financial reporting. 4. Hands-on experience with journal entries, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and month-end closing. 5. Good knowledge of preparing and analyzing financial reports and supporting schedules. 6. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to identify accounting discrepancies. 7. Good Microsoft Excel skills and practical experience using ERP or accounting systems. 8. Previous experience in the construction, engineering, project management, or professional services industry is preferred. Show more
