Participants work on realistic business challenges, receive AI-powered feedback, use modern professional tools, and build portfolio-ready projects that demonstrate their abilities to future employers.
We're looking for driven, detail-oriented, and analytical students to join our Accounting Internship and gain hands-on experience in the bookkeeping, financial reporting, and accounting operations work behind real companies.
About the Internship
As an Accounting Intern, you'll do realistic accounting work inspired by real company finance teams: recording transactions, reconciling accounts, preparing financial statements, managing payroll, and supporting the month-end close.
You'll learn how accountants keep company books accurate, prepare reports that management trusts, and make sure every dollar is tracked and accounted for.
Responsibilities
* Record mock journal entries and post transactions to the general ledger.
* Reconcile mock bank statements, vendor accounts, and customer balances.
* Prepare mock financial statements: balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement.
* Support a mock month-end close: checklists, accruals, and adjusting entries.
* Maintain mock accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers.
* Process mock vendor invoices and track payment schedules.
* Run mock payroll calculations: salaries, deductions, and net pay.
* Prepare mock tax schedules and filings at a conceptual level.
* Perform mock internal audits: test controls and document findings.
* Analyze mock company expenses and flag anomalies for review.
* Maintain fixed-asset registers and compute mock depreciation.
* Prepare management accounting reports: budgets vs. actuals and variance analysis.
* Build simple cost models and analyze mock product margins.
* Draft mock board-ready financial summaries with clear commentary.
* Research accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS) and apply them to mock cases.
* Use AI tools to accelerate data entry checks, reconciliations, and reporting.
* Document procedures and keep audit-ready working papers.
* Track outstanding items and follow up until they are fully resolved.
* Present financial summaries with clear rationale and supporting evidence.
* Collaborate with mock finance teammates on reporting deadlines.
Requirements
* Current student or recent graduate in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
* Strong interest in accounting, bookkeeping, and financial reporting.
* Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with numbers.
* Strong spreadsheet skills (Excel or Google Sheets); formulas a must.
* Good written and verbal communication skills, including clear financial commentary.
* Ability to turn raw transaction data into accurate, trustworthy reports.
* Interest in how companies track money and make financial decisions.
* Familiarity with basic accounting concepts (debits, credits, financial statements) is a plus but not required.
* Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar platforms is a plus.
* Previous professional accounting experience is not required.
What You'll Gain
* Hands-on experience doing real accounting work.
* Practical experience preparing financial statements.
* Experience running reconciliations and a month-end close.
* Understanding of debits, credits, ledgers, and the chart of accounts.
* Experience processing payroll, payables, and receivables.
* Understanding of budgeting, variance analysis, and cost accounting.
* Practical exposure to audit work and internal controls.
* Experience using AI and modern accounting tools.
* Portfolio-ready accounting projects.
* Personalized AI feedback on your work.
* Professional certificate upon successful completion.
* Mentorship and weekly learning sessions.
* Opportunity to strengthen your portfolio, resume, and interview readiness.
