Job Responsibilities:
Support the Technical Support Team Leader in planning, coordinating, and executing network and security implementation and support activities across assigned projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and agreed timelines.
Lead the technical implementation, installation, configuration, integration, and commissioning of network and security systems, including switches, routers, firewalls, and other related infrastructure.
Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain networking equipment from Cisco, Dell, Huawei, and other relevant vendors in accordance with approved designs and customer requirements.
Perform advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of complex network connectivity, routing, switching, hardware, performance, and security issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing service disruption.
Implement and validate network configurations, including VLANs, IP addressing, routing protocols, switching, network segmentation, and access control, as applicable to the project.
Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network security solutions, including firewalls, security policies, access control rules, and related security configurations, in line with approved designs and security requirements.
Conduct technical assessments and review existing network and security configurations to identify performance issues, configuration gaps, operational risks, and opportunities for improvement
Execute network testing, system validation, and commissioning activities,ensuring that equipment and solutions meet approved technical specifications and operational requirements.
Develop and execute troubleshooting and testing procedures to diagnose recurring issues, validate corrective actions, and verify system stability following configuration changes or repairs.
Support network upgrades, system expansions, equipment replacements,configuration migrations, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance activities.
Perform network health checks and review system logs, monitoring alerts, performance indicators, and equipment status to identify potential issues and recommend preventive actions.
Ensure that network configurations are backed up, configuration changes are properly documented, and recovery procedures are followed where applicable.
Review project requirements, technical specifications, network diagrams, and implementation plans to ensure that installation and configuration activities align with approved designs.
Prepare, review, and maintain technical documentation, including installation reports, configuration records, network diagrams, test results, commissioning reports, troubleshooting logs, and as-built documentation.
Maintain accurate records of equipment inventories, IP addressing schemes, configuration changes, technical incidents, and corrective actions.
Coordinate with the Technical Support Team Leader regarding implementation progress, complex technical issues, resource requirements, project risks, escalations, and outstanding actions that may affect project delivery.
Provide technical guidance and on-the-job support to Network Technical Support Engineers and other junior team members, sharing troubleshooting methods,implementation practices, and technical knowledge.
Review technical work and documentation prepared by junior engineers, where assigned, to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established procedures.
Coordinate with project managers, presales engineers, implementation teams, vendors, and customer technical teams to resolve technical challenges and ensure smooth implementation and handover.
Liaise with vendor technical support teams to investigate complex hardware, software, configuration, and interoperability issues and follow up on corrective actions.
Support customer technical discussions, explain technical issues and proposed resolutions, and provide implementation updates in coordination with the Technical Support Team Leader.
Conduct site visits and provide on-site technical support for the Mansoura Electricity Distribution Project in Sharm El Sheikh and other assigned project locations, as required.
Support system acceptance and handover by validating system functionality, resolving outstanding technical issues, and ensuring that all required technical documentation is completed.
Ensure compliance with information security requirements, approved change management procedures, site safety rules, and project quality standards.
Identify recurring technical problems and recommend improvements to configurations, troubleshooting procedures, maintenance practices, and support processes.
Keep up to date with developments in networking, network security, vendor technologies, and industry best practices relevant to the company's enterprise solutions.
Perform other related technical implementation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and project support duties as assigned by the Technical Support Team Leader.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
5–8 years of relevant experience in network and security implementation, technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance, with at least five years of practical experience in network and security support.
Strong hands-on experience with Cisco, Dell, and Huawei networking equipment, including configuration, integration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
Practical experience with enterprise networking infrastructure, including routers,switches, VLANs, routing protocols, IP addressing, subnetting, and network performance optimization.
Good working knowledge of network security technologies, including firewall configuration, security policies, access control rules, network segmentation, and security troubleshooting.
Proven ability to perform advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis across network connectivity, routing, switching, hardware, performance, and security-related incidents.
Experience in network installation, system integration, testing, commissioning,preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and technical handover.
Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools, packet analysis, system logs, configuration backups, and network performance monitoring.
Experience supporting network upgrades, configuration migrations, equipment replacements, and implementation changes in enterprise environments.
Ability to review network diagrams, technical specifications, implementation plans, configuration files, and as-built documentation.
Experience preparing and reviewing technical reports, installation records, configuration documentation, test results, commissioning reports, and troubleshooting records.
Relevant certifications, such as Cisco CCNP or CCNA, Huawei HCIP or HCIA, Dell networking certifications, or vendor-specific firewall and network security certifications, are considered an advantage. Advanced certifications are preferred where relevant to the technologies deployed.
